Day 4

9.16.2014
Heading out of St Louis was easier than I anticipated. As screwed up as traffic was coming in to town, it went really smooth heading out. As we headed west on Rt 44, it looked like we were heading into some fog. We soon realized it was a light drizzle, like the evening before. It went on like this for a while but never rained hard enough to put on the rain gear. It was only about 56° when we left so thankfully it didn't rain hard.
We stopped for lunch in Springfield at the Drunken Monkey, a biker bar I found on Google. They were said to have good burgers so that's what we ordered. The cook, the barmaid and the lone patron were very friendly and talkative. The lone patron did his own version of "Shock and Awe" dropping F bombs every other word. WOW!  Like carpet F bombing!  But my Bacon Cheese Burger was very good!
We rolled into Tulsa around 3:30 and cleaned up for dinner. The choices were slim as far as eateries within walking distance from the hotel. We opted for a Chili's and even though we would like to avoid the chain restaurants, the food was pretty good. I had the Beef Short Rib Enchiladas. Very tasty!
Tomorrow we head for Dallas and warmer weather!
